- Syngenta Corn Litigation
In 2015, Griffin, Dietrich & Elliott began representing corn farmers in Northwest Missouri who have suffered losses in their corn profits due to international trade disruptions with China. Our firm has partnered with Mikal Watts from Watts Guerra, LLP in San Antonio, Texas and Chad Lucas of Kuhlman & Lucas in Kansas City, Missouri to file claims against Syngenta. Individual farmer claims are based upon Syngenta’s decision to launch seed sales of a type of genetically modified corn prior to obtaining regulatory approval from China, causing the price per bushel to decline.

A DeKalb County motor vehicle collision case that Griffin, Dietrich & Elliott settled against a Nebraska trucking company was ranked as the #66 Top Plaintiff Win for 2014 in Missouri. (Missouri Lawyers Weekly, Feb. 2, 2015).
- Top Plaintiff Wins in 2012
Griffin, Dietrich & Elliott was involved with two cases that the Missouri Lawyers Weekly recognized in the Top 50 Plaintiff Wins in 2012. Listed at #16 was a property damage settlement in Buchanan County, Missouri (see below). Also ranked at #41 was a medical malpractice verdict from Nodaway County, Missouri.
- Settlement in Tannery Sludge Cases:
The attorneys at Griffin, Dietrich & Elliott, LLC along with Brian Madden and other Wagstaff & Cartmell attorneys settled a case styled S. Beery Johnson, et. al v. Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company, Inc. in Buchanan County Circuit Court on May 7, 2012. Our clients were a group of landowners who received tannery sludge containing a carcinogenic chemical, hexavalent chromium. The toxic sludge was spread on farm fields in Andrew, Buchanan, Clinton and DeKalb counties as fertilizer from 1983 to early 2009. Read more (The Kansas City Star)
